When you get your beautiful new digital camera there is a step you must take before you snap a picture. Take the manual out of the box and go through the steup as directed. Then (and this is really really important) find the instructions in the manual for turning off the feature which displays the date on your pictures and TURN IT OFF. TURN IT OFF RIGHT NOW AND NEVER EVER TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN!!!
ahem. You don't need that feature. The date and time you took the picture are stored in the digital information for the image and IT IS REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING TO LOOK AT PICTURES WITH A DATE STAMP ON THEM.
