Kathleen pointed out that I have been somewhat absent. I do have the next episode of Summer to post but it hasn’t been polished yet.

I’m about to fall asleep so forthwith:

Work is so insane that they actually had a meeting last week in which they questioned me to determine how long each task that I have for departments other than my own takes. So they can decide who gets how much of my time. They still haven’t decided where or how they are going to deploy me as it were. That’s still under discussion. As I said to my boss the other day, as long as there isn’t an actual line of people at my desk I can manage.

Holiday party at work Friday. I came away with a haul of pressies, including a gift certificate to Best Buy. Oh and there was a little monetary gift in addition to the old paycheck.

My dad is having stents put in his legs on Wednesday. Some time I would really love to have a vacation that’s an actual vacation. I told my mother next time I am booking a trip and going somewhere by myself and not telling anyone where I am.

I’ve spent most of the last several weekends (that I was in town) putting together furniture for my parents bedroom (now that the fire damage has been repaired.) My mom decided (in what seems to me to be a very sensible way) to put almost all her money into expensive linens. She then picked out furniture pieces (for the stuff that had to be replaced) that are very attractive but not expensive and hence “some assembly required.”

I’m working with my dad on a whole other project that I’m not even going to bother going into at this time. It’s fun but a time eater.

In a moment of insanity I applied to be on a competition team on Another Website, never thinking I’d actually be chosen. Of course I was chosen and am on a team and it’s also a huge time eater. The only other web designer on the team went AWOL. Yet another sensible woman.

I also have to finish my Christmas shopping and mail stuff out. I never even signed up for Christmas Cards or wish lists and I feel really badly about that because I enjoyed it so much last year. I took this week off thinking I’d be able to relax and do lots of holiday stuff. Probably not happening.

Oh and just to make life interesting I tore up my hands today doing something stupid. My fingers are all one huge rope burn.

And I had a Christmas fic that I wanted to write but I haven't been able to do more than mentally work on it.
